Refund & return policy
If a Milkos subscription is not what you expected, we make refunds easy. No hoops, no calls, just an email.
We sell one product: an annual subscription to the Milkos personal finance journal, which delivers our bi-weekly essays, the quarterly portfolio review letter, and access to the full reader archive. This policy explains how to get your money back if the publication is not a fit.
1. The 30-day full refund window
Every new annual subscription comes with a 30-day full refund guarantee, no questions asked. If at any point within the first 30 days you decide Milkos is not for you, write to hello@milkokos.info with your order number and we will refund the full amount to the original payment method within 10 business days.
2. Pro-rated refunds after day 30
Beyond the initial 30 days, we offer pro-rated refunds for unused calendar months. The calculation is simple: total annual price divided by 12, multiplied by the number of complete months remaining. Pro-rated refunds are issued within 10 business days of the request.
3. Automatic renewals
If you have opted-in to automatic annual renewal, we send a reminder email 14 days before the renewal date. You can cancel the renewal at any point before then with a single email — no penalty, no friction. If the renewal goes through and you want to cancel afterwards, our 30-day full refund window still applies.
4. Free portfolio reviews
The free quarterly portfolio review service is offered without charge. There is nothing to refund. If you submitted a portfolio and have not heard back within the published window, please re-submit so the desk can investigate.
5. What is not refundable
Two narrow exceptions:
- Donations made via the "support the desk" page are non-refundable, as they are explicitly framed as gifts.
- Bundled or discounted gift subscriptions can be refunded only to the original purchaser, not the recipient.
6. How to request a refund
- Email hello@milkokos.info with the subject line "Refund request" and your order number.
- We acknowledge every refund request within one business day.
- Approved refunds are issued within 10 business days, to the original payment method.
- If you no longer have access to the original card, we will arrange an EU SEPA bank transfer.
7. EU consumer rights
If you are an EU consumer purchasing the subscription for personal use, you also retain your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU. Our 30-day window is strictly broader than this statutory minimum.
8. Disputes
We aim to resolve every refund issue amicably and quickly. If we cannot, you may refer the matter to the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr or to the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).
